The shells littered the shoreline, but one seemed to call me. I don’t know what it was about the tiny shell that got my attention. Maybe because it was almost the same colour as the sand it was lying on. I knelt down to get a better view of it and smiled at the simplistic beauty of the half-moon shell that looked so peaceful.
Just as I was about to reach out and touch it, my hand froze in midair. I did a double take when I was looking at the sand that surrounded it. Had it moved by itself?
