The Fox inn was the focal point of the town. Not that this was unusual, as a pub was often the central point where people would meet. The food in the small place was exceptional, and the reputation preceded it. This meant it was always busy.
The only remarkable thing was that stuffed fox that that proudly on the mantelpiece. According to them running the pub, it had been there from the very beginning. The original owner was a hunter who had captured the fox that had been eating livestock such as chickens for over a year.
Hence the name.
I wrote this in response to this week’s Sunday photo fiction
I bet foxes keep well clear of that place now!

I am not sure where it is. It was just a photo prompt for that challenge and it is not a place I recognise. Thank you for reading and commenting.
