They had been looking forward to this moment. It was going to be the first time they had ever marched together. Time to show off their own abilities and get themselves recognised as a competent marching band.

Well, that was the plan.

A meeting place was arranged at the green spot. The group were aiming for a pub called the green spot that was near the start of the march. Unfortunately, some didn’t hear the word pub and so went to the green spot painted in the bandstand at the other end of town.

Competency wasn’t going to happen today.
