This week’s photo prompt is provided by The Magicsticgoldenrose. Thank you for our photo prompt!
During my years of growing up, all I wanted was to go to the big house. I had met the Prince and he was truly the man of my dreams. I had many romantic notions that he would love me too and everything would be perfect the day we were married.
Looking back, I realise that I was young and naïve. The Prince loved nobody but himself and I was merely a trophy wife. In my heart of hearts, I still loved him, and my craving for him would be never-ending.
Unrequited love hurts.
The big house became my prison.

So sad! Her dream finally came true and it turned out to be nightmare (sort of). Great story Angie!!

It was certainly not everything that he imagined it would be. Thanks for reading and hosting.

You echo what will have happened often over history, and the lottery of life. Interesting take on the prompt

I am sure many people have been in that duration, sadly. Thanks for reading.

Sadly the truth for too many princesses I think. In the past or just the ones with princess dreams in the present. I prefer the Taylor Swift version in “White Horse” – “That I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale / I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,/Lead her up the stairwell / This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,/ I was a dreamer before you went and let me down / Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around.”
But then my own story was very similar to yours Angie. That castle is imposing.

I’m sure there’s a handsome young man at the stables that might take her mind of her troubles for a few hours. 😉

A sad situation for her to find herself in. The fairytale ‘happy ever after’ is not as common in real life as in stories! Great story, Angie. 🙂

I don’t think it is very common at all, which is quite sad. Thanks for reading.
