When I started to see my own breath I knew that something was coming. I turned towards my friend who was staring at me with wide eyes.
Of what? I couldn’t actually tell you.
We were paranormal investigators who had been searching in a garden that was apparently haunted. I would say that we had been sceptical up until this point. I reached out to hold her hand.
Everybody knew that when things went cold ghostly activity could be involved. I was about to say something when we suddenly realised the bush itself was freezing up.
Then we ran away.

Hahahaha! So much for ghost busting! The ghosts were turning the bushes into frosted bushes! LOL! Cute story, Angie!

What a great ending! It set up a sudden mental turn for the reader that made the story humorous.

That would scare me too — or at least, concern me enough to put a safe distance between myself and whatever phenomenon that was!
