“Didn’t you bring a shovel?”
“What are you looking at me for?” Emily was standing there holding the lantern. “This whole thing was your idea! Anyway, I thought that the site was already partially excavated which is why I have bought my little brush.
Roger sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “It has been partially excavated, it’s true. Remember what we are here to find?”
“For all I know you want to find the holy Grail. You always have some crackpot scheme going on in that head of yours and I’m just unable to keep up. So, I have no idea what we have come here to find.”
He glared at her. “We are here to claim the working models that were buried with the owner. The whole scientific community needs them found. Look, we are going to need a spade because if those things had already been dug up we will have read about it in the news.” Roger clambered over the wire fencing that had been set up around the dig. “Come on then.”
Emily handed him the lantern. “You know what? You are on your own.” She had finally decided to go solo in life.
