Jenny was tugging her son down the street. “Look, we are going to stay in this building. Won’t it be fun? We could be staying really high up and you will get a great view out the window. It is going to be absolutely perfect!”

“No. I want to go home.”

“Not tonight.”

“Why? Where is daddy?”

Jenny held back on her unshed tears and struggled not to look down at the boy. She wanted to protect him as long as she could from the unbearable pain speeding in his direction.

Tomorrow. She would tell him his dad died tomorrow.
