This book is written about a man called Jake, and his wife Bernadette. There is an argument between Jake and somebody we don’t really know about, but it is resolved when the train that he is on gets blown up. He dies, but she does not. He is in heaven and is a spiritual being. He discovers that his mood would change the colour of his aura, and as he is separated from Bernadette and feeling gloomy he becomes known as the grey one. Unhappy with being in heaven, Jake decides to go into the physical world where he is not allowed to go. Once he arrives down on earth, he tries to find his wife, only to find that she is not doing very well. He considers himself to be a fugitive, so he is always avoiding Angels while he is there.
It is a short novella, and a very quick and compelling read. It is a definite page turner because you do not know which direction it is going to head. There are some comic elements about it, but on the whole it is probably considered to be paranormal.
The writing is very well done, and the rules of being a spirit are explained very well, as are angels and Demons that exist on the world with us.
I actually gave this five out of five stars, because I really could not see any flaw within the book. I really enjoyed it and would easily recommend it to anybody who wanted to read something quick, with some comedy, some romance, something paranormal, and something interesting. There really is something for everybody in this book.
