Monday journal… 28 December 2015

This is the final entry in my Monday journal for 2015. The end of the year has come by so fast, it hardly seems like yesterday since the very beginning of the year. It gives me a chance to realise just how long I have been beavering away on my work in progress. The idea has been in my head for a very long time now. In fact, I forget how long ago it was that I wrote the original piece of fan fiction that this was based on. At the beginning of the year though, I was working on a different story of a vampire, and it was only in the middle of the year that I decided to write this up.

It has come a long way since then, just over 76,000 words long to date! Actually the characters have really changed, and I am enjoying the way that they developed.

I realised today just how close to the ending I actually am. I only have a couple of chapters to write until I reach the story finale, so I am really excited about reaching the end of the first draft. There is still a long way to go, and I am well aware of this. I am just really look forward to going through it and making changes.

Some of these changes have been highlighted by my only beta reader who got back to me about the first half of the story. Love powered has given me a lot to think about, and I am looking forward to addressing some of the issues he discovered in my writing. It is a shame that nobody else got back to me with any opinions on my story. Mind you, at least somebody has given me something to work with. It is very much appreciated 🙂

As I thought last week, not a lot got done during the week, but then it was Christmas I suppose!

So, while I am here, happy New Year 🙂
