Monday journal 16 November 2015

Okay, so it is a Monday and time for your weekly journal entry all over again. Usually I would use this space to catch you up with my writing progress in general over the last seven days. However, I have actually made no progress with this. My life has been substantially hectic over the past month, so much so that I have had to give up all hope of doing NaNoWriMo this month. Basically, I have had no time to myself in order to get any writing done, and this is not about to change for the rest of the month. So, sadly, I am going to have to let this one go.

No real shock, because this happens to me every single November for the past four years. (This also includes every single April, and every single July, when I attempt to do the camps!) Of course, I should probably just give up and stop signing up to these kinds of things!

Mind you, I am not giving up on writing completely πŸ™‚ I am still just about on target for my annual goal of 200,000 words, so that is something that I will definitely not be ignoring.

The writing prompts that I follow help keep my mind active when it comes to writing the longer piece that I am still working on. It is still completely lacking a title, but I’m sure that one will come to me eventually. Maybe it is going to be the last line, whatever that is going to be! It all remains to be seen!

What have I been busy with? Well, that is just it, because really I have been busy with nothing but the general nonsense that gets thrown your way by life in general.

Apart from a world of nothing, I have done one thing that is truly great. I have actually managed to book myself on a cruise to go and see the Northern lights in the Norwegian fjords in February next year. That actually managed to take up about ten minutes of my month, but the rest of the time that I should have been writing has been spent on nonsense!

Ces’t la vie!

See you all next week πŸ™‚

  1. For what it’s worth I find things like NaNo are only important if they help you with your process. In this case it wasn’t the right time for you to be writing, so forget it. Resting and booking cruises is the right move. You’ll write when it’s time for you to write.

    1. One day I will definitely make it to 50,000 words! I mean, the more I try, the more chance of succeeding I will have… Although maybe next year I will find myself booking a cruise that is going to last for the whole of November! I will get to be alone somehow! Now, all I get to do is look forward to seeing the sights of Norway πŸ™‚
