Conclusions

This is my response to Mondays finish the story (yes, I am aware of what day it is!). In this challenge you are given a photo and the first line of a story and then you are asked to make a story of around 100 words inspired by it.

This is the picture that we were given:

2015-10-26-c2a9-2015-barbara-w-beacham

My story is exactly 100 words long (not including the first sentence)

– –

Finish the story begins with: “I watched the vulture looking at me hungrily as I lay on the ground bleeding and injured.”

There were no vultures here.

It certainly looked like my so-called best friend was going to be successful in her bid to do away with the competition.

All of this over a man.

“Been drinking again, Sue?” The voice brought me out of my thoughts. “What have you fallen over this time?”

Then I realised that I was in the village green, staring up at the pub sign of a vulture. I felt stupid for jumping to conclusions, and decided that I definitely owed my friend a drink. Not that I was ever going to be drinking myself, ever again.
